6/7/2010: HP Z6100 Designjet with banding in print. After 1st Call 4 Service inspected the HP Z6100 Designjet printer found that fan/filter unit which sits below the maintenance cartridge tray assy unit was full of used ink from normal useage. Being full stops drawing all the vapours away from inside the Hp Z6100 Designjet printer and also takes part in taking used ink away from when primer cleans the printheads, the tray which holds the maintenance cartridge have holes which were blocked due to fan/filter assy being full.
Before I arrived the customer had already changed all printheads and maintenance cartridge attempting to rectify the problem with banning from the printheads hence the following work was needed.
Serviced printer, also gave the internal of the printer a good clean removing all the vapours residue and fitted all the parts from the Maintenance Kit 2.
I could have just fitted the Maintenance Kit 2 which would take 2 hours, but I like to do a full proper job of preventative maintenance and spend 4 to 5 hours cleaning, servicing and replacing parts.
