1st Call 4 Service was called to a service repair for customer in Cannock, Staffordshire with a Summa D120 Cutter, after cutter not lowering into cut operation. It happened after pulling media out and catching carriage.
On investigation I found that the cutter arm was stiff and not returning freely. On the cutter carriage head assy just below connector control board, found the nut which holds the solenoid housing cup, started to loosen which loosen the stiffness to the moment of the cutter arm. Relocated the solenoid cup housing back to correct position and tighten.
Long test with Summa D120 cutter and serviced.
