Hosted by Ryder Cup star Paul Broardhurst
The original Atherstone Golf course was laid out in 1894 on what was described as some of the best natural golfing land in the region. Today it is considered by all categories of players to be a most enjoyable and exciting test of golf.
At 6,012 yards, the course is not long, but with several blind shots to the 18 holes which are all completely different to one another, it makes for a very interesting round of golf.
Parts of the course have a “links” feel although many of the holes are set amongst a parkland of mature oak trees and with water coming in to play on three holes a genuine variety of golfing enjoyment has been created.
The quality of Atherstone Golf Club is perhaps demonstrated by the fact that it has produced many fine golfers, three of whom have aspired to Ryder Cup players and two members have won silver medals at The Open Championship. Perhaps the club is best known locally for its friendly atmosphere both on and off the golf course
and all categories of players are met with a warm welcome.
